While all materials are beautiful in their individual right, there are differences between natural stone and quartz products we must consider when selecting the right material for the project. Granite

Employing Mother Nature as the artist, granite countertops have a look that’s all their own. Being a 100% natural, granite is found in many colors, shades, and patterns. Every slab of granite has its own variations and inconsistencies which lend to its beauty. Patterns and colors may be simple or complex depending on volcanic events that took place millions of years ago. Granite is a relatively low-maintenance product, that once properly sealed, should have no issues with staining and is highly resistant to heat.

Marble

Undeniably one of the most captivating natural surfaces ever known to man, marble has long been a staple of beauty and luxury for many centuries. Throughout ancient Greece and Rome, you will find buildings, furniture and countertops all constructed from local marbles. Although remarkably gorgeous, marble is very soft and porous by geological nature. This warrants extreme care when using for countertop surfaces, as marble is highly susceptible to scratching and staining. Sealer can be applied; however, etching is inevitable

Quartz

Unlike granite and marble, quartz slabs are not directly quarried from the earth, but rather undergo an engineering process. Consisting of 90% natural quartz and 7% resin, quartz countertops require very low maintenance, durable and are optimal for areas of high use. Because the slab formulation process is done by man, colors are carefully crafted to fit every interior design in mind, ranging from solid colors to imitations of natural stone and marble. Slab patterns and coloration remain consistent from slab to slab. Material manufactures include Cambria, LG Viatera, Caesarstone and Silestone.

Quartzite

Differentiating itself from quartz, quartzite is a 100% stunning product of Earth, like that of granite and marble. Found in the depths of Brazil, quartzite is an extremely hard and durable natural stone surface that can easily withstand the daily wear and tear of countertop use. Since this is a natural stone, slabs will vary from one another. Material patterns usually consist of flowing veins, making it a great alterative countertop product for those who want the appearance of marble, without the continuous daily upkeep.

Semi-Precious

Known for their showstopping appearance, semi-precious stone countertops offer visual magnificence. The advanced production process used to craft these one-of-a-kind slabs heightens the functionality of wondrous natural stone. Through an artisan technique, gemstones like amethyst and agate are suspended in resin in order to fashion a completely unique surface that is highly resilient and well suited for a wide array of applications.
